For Getting Things Done.The 2 Minute Rule: Made famous by the author Dave Allen, it simply says if a task takes less than two minutes, then do it now, don’t schedule it for later. Get a copy of his book HERE. For Procrastination:The 5 Minute Rule: All you need to do is commit to spending just five minutes on whatever it is you’re procrastinating, after this time you are free to stop. In most cases, people continue to work after the five-minute timer expires, but the simple fact of knowing that they could stop if they wanted to gives them an extra incentive to start something they may have put off. For HabitsThe 2 Day Rule: If you are trying to build a habit and need a simple framework (and not lots of tally charts or tick boxes) to build some momentum, then try the 2 day rule. Simply set yourself the target of not missing your habit, (whether it is a form of exercise, or healthy eating for example) 2 days in a row. You can miss it for one day, but not 2 days consecutively.
